Dust with a dry, soft cloth. For a mark, wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight away — marble is porous, and standing water leaves a ring. Never use bleach, vinegar, lemon or a cream cleaner. Acids etch the polish, and an etched surface cannot be put back. Suitable for outdoors, where it will weather slowly to a softer surface.

About this piece
The Divine Mercy carved by hand in marble, three feet tall — the right hand raised in blessing, the left at the breast, and the two rays falling from the heart cut into the robe. Without paint the figure reads by its form and shadow, which suits a church, an oratory or a sheltered place in a garden.
In 1931 St Faustina Kowalska, a Polish sister, saw Christ in a white garment with two rays coming from his heart, one pale and one red, and was asked to have the image made with the words “Jesus, I trust in You” beneath it. She was told the pale ray stands for the water that makes souls righteous and the red for the blood that is their life. St John Paul II canonised her in 2000 and gave the whole Church Divine Mercy Sunday, the Sunday after Easter.
