Dust with a dry, soft cloth, and a dry soft brush for the folds and the face. For a mark, a barely damp cloth and nothing else — solvents, scouring creams and household sprays lift hand-painted detail and it cannot be repainted to match. Keep it out of long direct sunlight, which fades the colours over the years. Made for indoors. If you want this figure for a garden or a grotto, ask us — pieces meant to stand outside are finished differently.

About this piece
Our Lady of Mercy crowned, in white robes edged with gold, the Child on her arm and a sceptre in her hand. Hand-painted resin in two heights: 57 cm for a shelf or a bedside, and 80 cm, which holds a hall table or a family altar.
In 1218 St Peter Nolasco founded in Barcelona an order of friars whose work was to buy back Christians held captive, and to take their place in prison when the money ran short. They kept Our Lady as their patron under the title of Mercy, or Ransom, and dressed her in their own white habit. Her feast is 24 September.
