Dust with a dry, soft cloth, and a dry soft brush for the folds and the face. For a mark, a barely damp cloth and nothing else — solvents, scouring creams and household sprays lift hand-painted detail and it cannot be repainted to match. The glitter finish sits on the surface, so wipe lightly and never rub. Keep it out of long direct sunlight, which fades the colours over the years. Made for indoors. If you want this figure for a garden or a grotto, ask us — pieces meant to stand outside are finished differently.

About this piece
Our Lady of Mount Carmel crowned and enthroned, the Child on her knee, in hand-painted resin at 100 cm with a pearl and glitter finish that lifts the mantle under lamplight. A full-height figure — it wants a floor stand, a wide sill or a shrine rather than a shelf.
Carmel is the mountain in the Holy Land where hermits gathered near the spring of Elijah, and from them the Carmelite order grew. Our Lady is honoured there as its patron and mother, and the brown scapular associated with her is worn by lay people the world over as a sign of belonging to her. Her feast is kept on 16 July.
