County Cavan
Religious statues in Co. Cavan
Cavan is the heart of the Diocese of Kilmore and the birthplace of St Kilian, the Mullagh-born missionary still honoured as a patron of Würzburg. It is also a county of lakes and wet winters, which matters when a statue is going outside.

Kilmore and the cathedral in Cavan town
The Cathedral of Saints Patrick and Felim in Cavan town was built between 1938 and 1942 and dedicated on 27 September 1942. It is the seat of the Bishop of Kilmore, a diocese that takes in most of Cavan and parts of Leitrim, Fermanagh, Meath and Sligo. St Felim, the diocesan patron, is said to have founded the church at Kilmore near Cavan that gave the diocese its name; little else is known of him.
Saints and places of the county
St Kilian of Mullagh
Born in Mullagh in the seventh century, Kilian went as a missionary to what is now Germany and was martyred there. His feast is 8 July. St Kilian’s Heritage Centre in Mullagh tells his story, and the link with Würzburg is still kept up by both places.
The lake country
Cavan’s lakes and drumlins mean many homes have a garden shrine or a statue at the gable. Damp is the enemy of paint, so placement matters more here than in most counties.
Which statues suit a Cavan home or church
Indoors, painted resin is the usual choice: the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Divine Mercy image for a prayer corner, or Our Lady of Lourdes for a family that has made the trip to the grotto. For a church or a garden shrine, hand-carved marble stands up to the weather far better.
If you want St Kilian, St Patrick or St Felim for a parish or school, there is no stock statue to point you to, but a commissioned carving is possible — we will quote first.

Questions from Cavan
How much is delivery to Co. Cavan?
Resin statues go by post to any address in Co. Cavan for a flat €15 per order, however many statues are in the parcel. Marble is too heavy for the post, so we deliver it ourselves; the delivery charge for each marble statue is shown on its own page before you order. We deliver marble to every part of the county, including the lake roads, on a day agreed with you.
Will a resin statue survive outside in Cavan?
Check the statue’s own page first: only some pieces are finished to stand outside. Even then, damp and frost are hard on paint over the years, so a sheltered spot helps, and marble is the hardiest choice. Our outdoor care guide explains why.
Can I collect instead?
Yes — collection is free in Termonbarry, Co. Roscommon, arranged by WhatsApp on +353 85 285 1015.

Religious statues in Ireland

Monaghan
Monaghan town is the seat of the Diocese of Clogher, which also takes in Lough Derg — so the county’s Catholic life looks both to its own Gothic cathedral and to the island across in Donegal.
Leitrim
Leitrim is close to home for us: our free collection point in Termonbarry, Co. Roscommon, is within easy reach of much of the south of the county. Its own holy ground is at Fenagh, where St Caillín’s monastery stood.
Outdoor statues in Irish weather
Ireland is kind to stone in some ways and hard on it in others. Rain is constant, frost comes and goes, and wind off the Atlantic finds anything not fixed down. A little care at the start and once a year does most of the work.
