County Leitrim
Religious statues in Co. Leitrim
Leitrim is close to home for us: our free collection point in Termonbarry, Co. Roscommon, is within easy reach of much of the south of the county. Its own holy ground is at Fenagh, where St Caillín’s monastery stood.

Dioceses
Leitrim is divided between the Diocese of Kilmore, with its cathedral in Cavan town, and the Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnois, which includes Fenagh and the south of the county.
Holy places
Fenagh
St Caillín founded a monastery here; the ruined church that stands today dates from the fifteenth century. The Book of Fenagh, compiled at the abbey in 1516, is now in the Royal Irish Academy.
Lakes and Mass paths
Leitrim is a county of small lakes, old Mass paths and parish churches that sit alone on the hill. A statue at the gable of a house often faces the road for passers-by.
Which statues suit
Leitrim is wet, and paint does not love the rain, so think hard before putting anything painted outside. For a shrine at the gate or a grave, choose hand-carved marble — St Joseph in marble or Our Lady of Lourdes in marble — and read the outdoor care guide.
Indoors, the Sacred Heart, Our Lady of Knock and St Thérèse in painted resin.

Religious statues in Ireland
Statues of Our Lord, Our Lady and the saints for the home, the parish and the garden — hand-painted resin and hand-carved marble, delivered to every county in Ireland.
Roscommon
Roscommon is where we are. Any statue, resin or marble, can be collected free in Termonbarry, on the Shannon — and Roscommon has its own holy ground at Ogulla, where St Patrick is said to have baptised the daughters of the High King.
Sligo
By Lough Gill, Tobernalt holy well and its Penal-times Mass rock draw crowds every Garland Sunday. Sligo town is also the cathedral town of the Diocese of Elphin.
Outdoor statues in Irish weather
Ireland is kind to stone in some ways and hard on it in others. Rain is constant, frost comes and goes, and wind off the Atlantic finds anything not fixed down. A little care at the start and once a year does most of the work.
