County Kildare
Religious statues in Co. Kildare
Kildare is Brigid’s town — Cill Dara, the church of the oak — where she founded her monastery and where her flame is again kept alight. It is also home to Ireland’s national seminary at Maynooth.

Dioceses and churches
Most of the county belongs to the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin, whose cathedral is in Carlow; the north-east, including Maynooth and Celbridge, belongs to the Archdiocese of Dublin. St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, has trained priests for Ireland since the end of the eighteenth century.
St Brigid in Kildare
St Brigid’s Well
Just outside Kildare town off the Tully road, a quiet garden well with step-free access, visited all year and especially around 1 February.
Solas Bhríde
The Christian spirituality centre of the Brigidine Sisters in Kildare, where the flame of St Brigid is kept burning.
St Brigid’s Day
Since 2023, St Brigid’s Day has been marked with a public holiday at the start of February, and Kildare’s Féile Bríde has grown with it. Many families make a Brigid’s cross for the house that week.
Which statues suit
We do not keep a stock statue of St Brigid; if a school or parish would like one, we can look at a commissioned carving. For the home, the Holy Family, St Joseph and Our Lady of Grace are where we would start.
Kildare has a great many young families and new estates. A statue is a natural house-blessing gift or First Communion present, and painted resin is the right weight and price for both.

Questions from Kildare
How much is delivery to Co. Kildare?
Resin statues go by post to any address in Co. Kildare for a flat €15 per order, however many statues are in the parcel. Marble is too heavy for the post, so we deliver it ourselves; the delivery charge for each marble statue is shown on its own page before you order. Marble goes anywhere in the county, from the Curragh to the commuter towns, on a day agreed with you.
Can you make a St Brigid statue for our school?
It would be a made-to-order piece. Tell us the height and whether it will stand indoors or out, and we will come back with a price before anything is started. See also statues for schools.
What makes a good house-blessing gift?
A modest painted statue of the Holy Family, the Sacred Heart or St Joseph. Our house-blessing page has more ideas.
A statue for Kildare?
Tell us where the statue will stand and roughly how tall it should be, and we will tell you plainly what suits. WhatsApp or ring +353 85 285 1015, or write to [email protected].

Religious statues in Ireland
Statues of Our Lord, Our Lady and the saints for the home, the parish and the garden — hand-painted resin and hand-carved marble, delivered to every county in Ireland.
Dublin
Dublin has a fifteenth-century Madonna that survived the Reformation by being hidden, the relics of St Valentine, and the grave of Matt Talbot — and most of its homes now have less shelf space than their grandparents had.
Carlow
Carlow is a small county with a long Catholic memory: the cathedral of a diocese that reaches into seven counties, and at St Mullins a pattern day at St Moling’s well, beside the monastery he founded in the seventh century.
Choosing a size
The most common reason a statue disappoints is not the statue: it is the size. A few minutes with a tape measure, and one or two rules of thumb, save a lot of trouble.
