County Kilkenny
Religious statues in Co. Kilkenny
Kilkenny takes its name from St Canice — Cill Chainnigh, Canice’s church — and is the seat of the Diocese of Ossory, one of the oldest in Ireland.

St Mary’s and the Diocese of Ossory
St Mary’s Cathedral in Kilkenny city is the Catholic cathedral of Ossory, a diocese covering nearly all of Kilkenny and parts of Laois and Offaly. Its primary patron is St Kieran of Saighir; St Canice of Aghaboe, whose feast falls on 11 October, is its second patron, and the cathedral parish keeps his day.
Holy places in the county
Duiske Abbey, Graiguenamanagh
A great Cistercian abbey church on the Barrow, restored and in use again as the parish church.
Jerpoint
The ruined Cistercian abbey near Thomastown, known for its carved cloister figures of saints, knights and bishops — a reminder of how long Ireland has made religious images in stone.
Which statues suit
A city with a cathedral of St Mary is a city that loves Our Lady. Our Lady of Grace, Our Lady of Lourdes and the Immaculate Heart of Mary are the Marian statues we suggest first for a Kilkenny home; St Joseph for a young family.
Kilkenny’s limestone country has a long tradition of stone carving, from Jerpoint’s cloister to its churchyards, and carved stone looks at home in a Kilkenny garden. Our marble statues are hand-carved and suited to outdoor shrines; the outdoor care guide explains how to site one.

Questions from Kilkenny
How much is delivery to Co. Kilkenny?
Resin statues go by post to any address in Co. Kilkenny for a flat €15 per order, however many statues are in the parcel. Marble is too heavy for the post, so we deliver it ourselves; the delivery charge for each marble statue is shown on its own page before you order. We deliver marble to the city and every village in the county, on a day agreed with you.
Do you have St Canice or St Kieran?
Not in stock. A statue of an Irish saint for a parish or school can be made to order; we give a price first.
Marble or resin for a grave?
Marble. A painted statue left on a grave fades and weathers; carved marble lasts and can be cleaned. See memorial statues.

Religious statues in Ireland
Statues of Our Lord, Our Lady and the saints for the home, the parish and the garden — hand-painted resin and hand-carved marble, delivered to every county in Ireland.
Carlow
Carlow is a small county with a long Catholic memory: the cathedral of a diocese that reaches into seven counties, and at St Mullins a pattern day at St Moling’s well, beside the monastery he founded in the seventh century.
Tipperary
Tipperary holds the Rock of Cashel, the archbishop’s cathedral at Thurles, and Holy Cross Abbey, founded to keep a relic of the True Cross.
Outdoor statues in Irish weather
Ireland is kind to stone in some ways and hard on it in others. Rain is constant, frost comes and goes, and wind off the Atlantic finds anything not fixed down. A little care at the start and once a year does most of the work.
