County Wicklow
Religious statues in Co. Wicklow
St Kevin came to Glendalough to be alone with God and founded one of the great monasteries of Ireland. Pilgrims still walk St Kevin’s Way over the mountains from Hollywood.

Dublin’s county of mountains
Most of Wicklow belongs to the Archdiocese of Dublin; parishes in the west, towards Baltinglass, belong to the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin.
Glendalough and St Kevin
Glendalough
St Kevin died, by tradition, around 618, and his feast is kept on 3 June. The monastic city in the valley of the two lakes draws pilgrims all year.
St Kevin’s Way
A pilgrim path of about 30 km from Hollywood, in west Wicklow, through the Wicklow Gap to Glendalough. At Hollywood a statue of St Kevin stands on the rock above St Kevin’s Cave.
Which statues suit
Wicklow is the garden of Ireland, and plenty of statues here stand outside. St Francis, who preached to the birds, sits easily among plants — St Kevin, with the blackbird nesting in his hand, would be his Irish brother. For the garden, choose marble or browse our garden statues, and read caring for outdoor statues.
Indoors, Our Lady of Grace and the Sacred Heart remain the usual choices. A statue of St Kevin would be a commission.

Questions from Wicklow
How much is delivery to Co. Wicklow?
Resin statues go by post to any address in Co. Wicklow for a flat €15 per order, however many statues are in the parcel. Marble is too heavy for the post, so we deliver it ourselves; the delivery charge for each marble statue is shown on its own page before you order. That covers the coastal towns and the mountain valleys alike; for marble we agree a date with you.
Which statues are best for a garden?
Marble for anything that will stand out all year. Our garden statues page explains what stands up to an Irish winter.
Can you make a St Kevin statue?
It would be made to order. Tell us the size and where it will stand and we will give you a price before anything is started.

Religious statues in Ireland
Statues of Our Lord, Our Lady and the saints for the home, the parish and the garden — hand-painted resin and hand-carved marble, delivered to every county in Ireland.
Dublin
Dublin has a fifteenth-century Madonna that survived the Reformation by being hidden, the relics of St Valentine, and the grave of Matt Talbot — and most of its homes now have less shelf space than their grandparents had.
Wexford
Every year from the Assumption on 15 August to Our Lady’s birthday on 8 September, pilgrims come to Our Lady’s Island in the south of the county. Wexford also has Pugin’s great cathedral at Enniscorthy.
Outdoor statues in Irish weather
Ireland is kind to stone in some ways and hard on it in others. Rain is constant, frost comes and goes, and wind off the Atlantic finds anything not fixed down. A little care at the start and once a year does most of the work.
